At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Surrey Law Society on 19 December, James Scozzi of Elite Law Solicitors was elected as the Society’s President for 2025. This marks James’ second term as President, having previously served in 2017-18. During his first term, James worked closely with Chief Executive Helen Opie to launch the SLS Legal Awards programme, which has since grown into the Society’s flagship event, now in its sixth year.
As President in 2025, James has pledged to focus on generating new revenue streams for the Society and further strengthening its position as a key resource for legal professionals in Surrey. He will collaborate closely with Helen and the SLS Committee to achieve these goals and ensure the Society continues to thrive in its support of members.
James is Managing Partner and an experienced solicitor at Elite Law Solicitors, where he specialises in dispute resolution. His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving the firm’s success and reputation for excellence.
James has also announced that his nominated charity for the year will be the Community Foundation for Surrey, a local organisation dedicated to inspiring philanthropy and supporting communities across the county. More information about the charity can be found at www.cfsurrey.org.uk.
Commenting on his appointment, James said: “I am delighted to take on the role of President once again and to have the opportunity to serve the Surrey Law Society in 2025. I look forward to working with the Committee and Helen to realise some exciting opportunities for the Society in 2025 and beyond.”
The Surrey Law Society extends its congratulations to James and looks forward to an exciting and productive year under his leadership.
