Surrey Law Society has received an enquiry regarding a missing will. Any help is appreciated. If have any information that might assist, please contact us at admin@surreylawsociety.org.uk.
Patricia Brett’s common law partner Mr. Alan William Henry Bridger died on 18th October 2022.
She found a signed and witnessed draft copy of his will with a covering letter from his solicitors at the time, Stone Odell and Frankson of Banstead, Surrey – dated May 2002. When they ceased trading the business passed to Hamways Walker Owens Solicitors of Caterham, Surrey.
Patricia traced them on to Dolman & Pritchard who still function in the same Caterham premises. They say they don’t have the will but suggested she try the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The SRA instigated a search in the Intervention Archive and found a folder relating to Alan and Patricia. It contained the Deed of Trust they made regarding joint ownership of their house, but there was no will held with it.
If anyone has any information regarding this, please do get in touch.
