The Law Society Council has called a special general meeting (SGM) of Law Society members following the receipt of a requisition from 100 members under bye-law 22(1).
The meeting will take place in-person at Law Society headquarters at 113 Chancery Lane, London on Tuesday 23 July at 2pm, and online.
You must be a member of the Law Society to attend and vote at the SGM. If you are on the roll of solicitors, you are a member of the Law Society.

What is the SGM and why has it been called?
The Property Lawyers Action Group (PLAG) has requested to call an SGM of Law Society members to debate and vote on a motion of no confidence in The Law Society’s ability to represent members who undertake conveyancing.
This comes following a statement from PLAG that it believes the Law Society did not adequately consult with members before making changes relating to new guidance released by National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team (NTSELAT) which affect conveyancing – this includes changes to the TA6 form.
