The Surrey Law Society is thrilled to unveil the details of an exciting new fundraising initiative in support of the President’s chosen charity for 2024 – Cancer Research UK. Join us for an unforgettable evening at ‘Sailing for a Cure: A Legal Charity Event’ on Friday 26th April, from 7pm to 11pm. We’ll be cruising along the Thames aboard the New Southern Belle, a vibrant Mississippi-style sternwheeler, embarking from Kingston and journeying from Hampton Court to Richmond.
Guests will be treated to a drinks reception, delectable bowl food onboard, and top-notch entertainment courtesy of the live band, The Forty Fives, playing hits from the ’60s to the present day. As if that’s not enough, we’ve secured incredible donations for the event, offering attendees the chance to win fabulous prizes through an onboard auction and raffle. Your evening may end with not only cherished memories but also a special prize, made all the more special by knowing that it contributed to a worthy cause.
We have far too many prizes to mention here, but just a few of the highlights are:

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information. They support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses. This pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives.
Over the last 40 years, cancer survival in the UK has doubled. In the 1970s just 1 in 4 people survived their disease for 10 years or more. Today 2 in 4 survive. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to accelerate progress and see 3 in 4 patients surviving the disease by 2034.
Join us in contributing to this noble cause, and let’s collectively sail towards a cure.
This event is open to members of Surrey Law Society as well as their partners and colleagues.
