Biomedical Science Student Seeks Volunteering Opportunity in Legal Sector

30th June 2025

Surrey Law Society has recently been contacted by Yana Jethwa, a highly motivated third-year Biomedical Science student, who is seeking volunteer experience within a legal setting—particularly in areas where law and science intersect.

Yana is keen to explore fields such as medical law, personal injury, health regulation, or intellectual property, where her scientific background can provide valuable perspective. She is eager to gain hands-on experience and insight into how scientific knowledge is applied and interpreted within legal contexts.

In her message, Yana writes:

“Although my academic background is in biomedical science, I am eager to explore how scientific knowledge is applied and interpreted within legal contexts. I believe that volunteering at a legal firm would offer invaluable insight and experience, while allowing me to contribute meaningfully in a support role.”

Yana describes herself as organised, detail-oriented, and a fast learner, and is happy to assist with research, documentation, or other support tasks. She is also willing to share her CV with any firm that may be interested in offering a short-term placement or voluntary opportunity.

If any of our member firms are interested in supporting a driven and enthusiastic student exploring a future in the legal profession, please contact the Surrey Law Society team directly, and we will be happy to connect you with Yana.
