Peacock & Co Solicitors | Trainee Solicitor

16th March 2026
Peacock & Co Solicitors

About the Firm

Peacock & Co Solicitors is a well established firm with a strong reputation for high quality legal services delivered with professionalism, care and attention. They offer a friendly and supportive environment where staff development is valued and encouraged.
.
Peacock & Co is currently accepting applications for a Trainee Solicitor for the August 2026 intake. The position combines 1–2 days per week of office based administrative work together with 15–20 hours of study per week as required to complete SQE 1 if applicable.

Closing date: 31 March 2026
.

About the Role

Peacock & Co’s training contracts provide exposure to contentious and non contentious work. While the successful candidate’s interests will be considered, seat allocation will be determined by business needs.
.
Seats will always include experience within the Residential Property department and or the Private Client department, so an interest in these areas is essential.
.
This experience across different seats will help trainees identify the areas of law that most interest them and begin developing the versatility and vision needed to become trusted advisers to clients.

The successful candidate will need to have a minimum 2:1 degree.
.

Training and Development

The trainee will receive structured support, including regular meetings with a supervising partner, a full review at the end of each seat, and consistent informal feedback. These opportunities provide a forum to discuss progress and how best to develop legal knowledge, skills and experience.
.
The training contract will allow completion of the minimum two years of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE). QWE will commence after sitting the SQE 1 exams in January. SQE 2 will be taken during the two year QWE period.

Strong organisational and IT skills are essential.
.
The working environment is friendly and supportive, and trainees are given exposure to a range of matters in each seat and good quality work. In return, trainees are expected to take responsibility for their career, doing what it takes to ensure that knowledge and competence develop throughout the training period.
.
