The Law Society of England and Wales has opened its Council elections, with nominations now invited across a wide range of geographic, characteristic and work practice constituencies.

This is an excellent opportunity for members of Surrey Law Society, whether at committee level or across the wider membership, to get involved at the heart of their professional body and play a role in shaping its future direction.

The Law Society Council represents solicitors across England and Wales and helps to guide policy, strategy and engagement across the profession. Standing for election offers a valuable opportunity to contribute your voice, represent your peers and influence key issues affecting the legal sector.

Voting information

Voting will take place electronically, with eligible solicitors receiving a ballot by email.

To ensure members are able to vote in all relevant constituencies, it is important that they update their details on MyLS, including work practice area, organisation type and personal characteristics.
