The Government has launched a major consultation on Home Buying and Selling Reform, seeking views on how to create a faster, more transparent, and more reliable property market.
The consultation explores proposals to improve every stage of the process — from the introduction of mandatory upfront information and digital property packs to professional standards for agents, simplified conveyancing procedures, and the wider use of technology and data sharing across the sector.
Given the central role conveyancers play in every transaction, it is vital that the views and experiences of legal professionals are fully represented. The Surrey Law Society will be submitting a formal response on behalf of our members, led by representatives from our Conveyancing Committee with support from the SLS office.
We are now inviting conveyancing practitioners across Surrey to share their insights and feedback to help shape our submission.
Your contribution will help ensure that the voice of conveyancers is heard at a national level as the Government considers the next steps for reforming the home buying and selling process.
