Law Society Updates Residential Property Transaction Forms

13th October 2025

The Law Society has announced the release of two updated forms for use in residential property transactions:

  • TA6 Property Information Form (6th edition)
  • TA7 Leasehold Information Form (5th edition)

Both forms have been redesigned to make them clearer and more user-friendly for sellers and buyers alike. The updates to the TA6 were informed by extensive industry feedback, collaboration with conveyancing experts, and testing with real users.

To allow for a smooth transition, firms accredited under the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) will have until 30 March 2026 to adopt the new versions, after which all previous editions will be withdrawn.

Over the coming months, the Law Society will be encouraging solicitors and conveyancers to make the switch early, highlighting benefits such as the TA6’s improved explanatory notes and clearer structure.

Further information, including details of what’s changed, how to access the new forms, and links to suppliers, is available on the Law Society’s website:

A free online event will also take place on 13 January, offering members the opportunity to learn more about the updates and ask questions.
