This session is designed to provide conveyancers and property professionals with a practical understanding of the enforcement landscape surrounding Planning and Building Regulations, as well as compliance with NHBC Standards. Whether dealing with new builds, property renovations, or larger developments, understanding how these frameworks are enforced is critical for mitigating risks, advising clients effectively, and ensuring transactions run smoothly.
Through real-world case studies and interactive discussions, this course will explore common enforcement scenarios, such as breaches of planning permissions, non-compliance with building regulations, and issues flagged under NHBC warranties. The course will also look at changes to building regulations and planning permission enforcement periods and the Building Safety Act 2022 changes to newbuild guarantees.
This session will offer actionable guidance on navigating these challenges, with a focus on understanding enforcement powers, advising clients on their rights and obligations, and identifying key red flags during due diligence.
